Salina Street Church - Constitution

I. NAME

The name of this organization, a nonprofit Corporation, shall be the Salina Street Church.

II. STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Statement of faith of this church shall be maintained by Elders of Salina Street Church.

III. PURPOSE

Salina Street Church is a non-profit religious organization whose purpose is to fulfill God's desires for Christians as described in the Bible.  This church will proclaim Christ, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom to present everyone who believes complete in Christ (Col 1:28).

IV. MEMBERSHIP

The church shall receive as members those recognized by the Elders of Salina Street Church, who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior being born again, manifesting the fruits of the Spirit in their lives, and are in agreement with the doctrine and polity of this church.  Additional requirements for membership shall be maintained by the Elders of Salina Street Church.

V. PROPERTY RIGHTS

If the Elders of the church vote to dissolve and cease to function as a church of like faith and practice, or if the membership should dissolve through some disaster, the property rights shall be assigned to a non-profit organization chosen by the Elders of the church or, if no Elders are capable, to local churches holding to the doctrinal statement.

VI. GOVERNMENT

Ultimate authority lies in Christ as the head of the church and in the Scripture as the basis for all faith and practice.  This church shall remain free and self-governing, with authority to govern vested in the local Elders.

VII. OFFICERS

The officers of this church shall be the Elders or their designated representatives.  Deacons will be chosen by the Elders to serve the needs of the church and will have no governing authority except as specifically designated and maintained by the Elders.

VIII. GIVING

Contributions made to Salina Street Church may be  suggested for specific purposes by the giver, but final designation is the exclusive domain of the church leadership.

IX. AMENDMENTS

Amendments to this constitution may be made by consent of the Elders of Salina Street Church by a margin greater than 2/3.
